Liturgy (derived from the ancient Greek λειτουργία meaning “public service”) is an interactive installment made up of three individual pieces. This body of work invites the viewer to both consider their unique position in their community and to join together in a common ritual. Each station requests a different action from the viewer and through these actions the viewer affirms their connection to their community.

“Offerings” invites the viewer to make a written offering. This offering can come in many forms including words of advice, a hope for the future, a fear that needs to be expressed. Each of these offerings will be anonymously recorded, destroyed, and ultimately blended together to form a new art piece once the show concludes.

Be Not Afraid is on view at Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, 136 State Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801, from June 4th to June 29th, 2025. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am to 5 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
